We know that maps are among the hardest artworks to create, even for seasoned graphic designers and web developers. The process of plotting and labelling can often be so difficult, time-consuming and costly that many people give up trying, and do without a map even where having a map would be extremely helpful. How many times have you seen a long description of geographical directions or written list of locations when a visual map would be far better? Why do so many websites have postcode proximity finders without any maps? Why do the online mapping giants charge upwards of £20,000 for a commercial print licence?
