Some of our maps include certain elements as special option layers.
In the example below, Lough Neagh in Northern Ireland is a special option. If you look at various maps of Ireland you will soon notice that some show Lough Neagh and some don’t. It’s one of the biggest lakes in Europe and the boundary for several counties in Northern Ireland. It’s potentially visible even on a small map. However, you may not want to show any lakes on your map.
Basically, the special option layers let you decide if you want to show the element or not.
If you wanted to show Lough Neagh you would turn on this layer. If you wanted Ireland as a solid silhouette, you would turn it off. Time taken: 1 second.
